Market Creation
Markets on Conviction represent questions about real-world events. Each market defines a set of possible outcomes that users can trade on.
Market Types
Binary Market
A binary market has exactly two outcomes: YES and NO.
Example: "Will Bitcoin reach $100K by March 2025?"
- Outcomes: YES / NO
Binary markets are the most common type and are best suited for straightforward yes-or-no questions.
Categorical Market
A categorical market has three or more outcomes.
Example: "Which team will win the 2025 Champions League?"
- Outcomes: Team A / Team B / Team C / Other
Categorical markets allow trading on multiple possibilities within a single event.

On-Chain Registration
Each market is backed by smart contracts on ZetaChain:
- A unique condition ID is generated for each market on the Conditional Token Framework (CTF) smart contract.
- Outcome tokens (shares) are ERC-1155 tokens on ZetaChain, meaning each outcome share is a distinct token within the CTF contract.
- The CTF Exchange contract handles the orderbook, order matching, and settlement.
